Just after Kangla was handed over to the State Government in 2004, “Kangla Fort Board” was constituted under the Kangla Fort Act, 2004 with Hon’ble Chief Minister of Manipur as the President in order to administer and control the Kangla Fort.}

_{Based on the Concept Development Plan (CDP) of Dr.Nalini Thakur, Prof. & Head of Architectural Conservation of School of Planning & Architecture, New Delhi, Kangla is under development on the following lines with funding from SPA, FC Awards and State Plan :}

_{1) Restoration &reconstruction of important Historical Monuments and Sites
2) Development of important holy and sacred sites.
3) Reuse of European buildings and Bungalows as Museum and Office.
4) Plantation of trees.
5) Development of Gardens and Lawns.}
